Business writing is about clarity and persuasion. The main technique is keeping things simple.
- Get rid of extra words.
- Your first sentence needs to grab the reader.
- Write short sentences.
- Learn how brains organize ideas (i.e. prefer direct Subject-Verb-Complement).
Speaking Well
How to start
- Don;t make a joke, let people sink in your talk first
- Make a promise, a benefit
- Write an outline, so people can refer and anchor.
